About the role

As System Engineer – Mission Profile & Lifetime, you are responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining mission profiles and load collectives representing real-world vehicle usage. You operate primarily on the left side of the V-cycle, translating vehicle usage into system requirements, simulation inputs, and validation strategies, while ensuring consistency with validation results on the right side.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain mission profiles representing real-world vehicle usage, including standard and market-specific duty cycles.
  • Translate mission profile assumptions into system-level requirements, load collectives, lifetime targets, and durability requirements in alignment with vehicle and subsystem teams.
  • Assess the impact of system, design, and concept changes on existing mission profiles, load collectives, and durability targets.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve data processing scripts and tools for load collective generation, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Manage lifetime requirements, ensure requirement traceability, verification & validation (V&V) linking, and maintain related documentation.
  • Define simulation input requirements and support model updates in collaboration with simulation teams.
  • Support system-level simulations to evaluate transmission efficiency, performance, reliability, and durability.
  • Support definition of durability validation strategies based on mission profiles and load collectives.
  • Support test execution, analyze results, and ensure correlation between test data and simulation assumptions.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between system engineering, simulation, validation, testing, and subsystem teams.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
