System Engineer – Hydraulic Actuation & Power Shift Modules

About the role

As System Engineer Hydraulic actuation and power shift modules, you will support the system engineering team with focus on the hydraulic system and power shift modules/clutches on for the DT2 product family. You will support the full development cycles from specification, design, prototyping, manufacturing, integration and validation.  This applies for new products as well as improvements on existing products. In addition, system related aftersales topics are to be investigated and action plans to be made. You will report to the system engineering team lead and project team.

Responsibilities

  •  De-compose technical product level requirements into (sub-)system level requirement, specifications and architecture and ensure follow up towards compliancy
  • Manage and update Critical-to-Function (CTF) item
  • Responsible for technical decision making with good communication flow across stakeholders in different departments (multidisciplinary experience) and with the customer(s).
  • Conduct system level V-cycle testing, troubleshooting and validation to ensure reliability, safety and performance of our transmission
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including (embedded) software, hardware (Mechanical, Hydraulic, Materials), … engineers to ensure a seamless integration of system components
  • Perform system analysis, modeling and simulation to validate system performance and compliance with industry standards
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA’s, risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues
  • Take lead in system issue investigations (8D/QRQC) during development, serial life and after sales & service
  • Support the development of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience, preferably in automotive engineering environment
  • Technical background in mechanical engineering both design and manufacturing and link this with software and controls strategies
  • Good level of English (Speaking & writing)
  • Team player
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in 5W2H, 8D problem solving and SixSigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in system engineering tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Statistical programs (Eg Minitab), Vector Canape… and experience in requirement management tools (Polarion)
